Boulder City housing committee on hold

The creation of a committee that would look at housing issues in Boulder City has been postponed for at least a month.
At the suggestion of Councilman Mike Pacini, one of the council members to originally call for an affordable housing committee, the council voted 4-1 Tuesday night to delay launching the committee.
Earlier this year city leaders had planned to form a committee to look at the availability of affordable housing in Boulder City. Officials were careful to explain that by affordable housing they meant housing that young families could afford, and not government-subsidized housing.
Councilman Doug Scheppmann, who was also one of the first to call for such a committee, voted against delaying the formation of the committee.
