Nevada companies honored

The Women's Chamber of Commerce of Nevada honored 24 women-owned businesses over the weekend at its first anniversary celebration in Las Vegas.
Founded in May 2002, the chamber has 135 members in Las Vegas. It plans to launch several initiatives including partnerships with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to help women-owned businesses obtain resources and government contracts.
Chamber founder June Belland said several women business owners were honored including Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt, owner of Perri Inc., a real estate and restaurant management company. Companies honored included Waddell & Reed Financial, Spa Angel Boutique, the Smith & Francis CPA firm and ART TV Inc.
