Junior League offers grants
The Junior League of Las Vegas is accepting applications for education grants.
The grants will provide educators with needed funding for special activities and projects in their schools and will range up to $1,000 per project.
Applications for grants will be judged based on several criteria including learning enrichment, project impact, creativity and presentation. Application requesting funds for the purchase of kits, software, textbooks, food or substitute teaching costs are not eligible for this program.

Kiwanis raise money for UMC
The Kiwanis International presented a check for $20,000 to University Medical Center's pediatric unit. The Kiwanis International has been raising funds for UMC's pediatric department for the past 18 years.
UMC is the only public, non-profit hospital in Clark County and operates the state's only burn care unit and Level I trauma center.

The North Las Vegas Library District
will hold a Mother's Day program at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. The event is free and will include stories, songs and crafts. For more information, call 633-1070.
