CHICAGO -- Aides to Mayor Richard Daley are researching the possibility of a city-owned casino as a way to pump more revenue into Chicago's coffers.
"I think the proceeds should come back to the taxpayers," Daley said.
Daley, who has been up and down on the idea of a casino in Chicago, disclosed Tuesday that his aides were looking into the details for a possible land-based casino.
The mayor's signal of interest comes as Rep. Lou Lang of Skokie, chairman of the House Gaming Committee, plans to unveil proposals today to expand gambling in the state.
