Letter: Israeli holiday celebrates peace
Wednesday, May 7, 2003 | 9:19 a.m.
Israel Independence Day, celebrating 55 years of existence, is occurring today in Israel. Every year of Israel's existence has been fought for and won through the efforts of a people who truly want to live in a secure peace. People began to dance and celebrate all over Israel Tuesday evening and they will continue to party well into today.
We can only hope that a secure peace can be reached and that future celebrations will include people from all over the world who truly want a just and true peace in the Middle East.
