Rebels break career bests in Irvine meet

Several members of the UNLV women's track and field team set career and season bests at the Steve Scott Invitational Saturday in Irvine, Calif.
Sophomore Miesha McClendon finished second in her heat with a career and season best time of 14.40 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles.
Sophomore Michel Hunt also marked a career and season best time of 58.64 in the 400 meters.
For the fifth time this season, senior Casey Lektorich took top honors in the javelin with a winning throw of 145-02, while distance runners Lauren McCarty and Kelley Wright made top-15 finishes in the 5,000 meters. McCarty clocked in a career and season best time of 19:15.37 for eighth and Wright went 19:55.87 for 12th.
