High school: Bonanza ('01)
Where she is now: Syracuse
Class: Sophomore

Currently: A sophomore catcher with the young Orangewomen program, Kaempfer began this season with high expectation after earning a spot on the Big East All-Rookie team as a freshman. Last season, Kaempfer set a school record with 13 doubles, hit five home runs, and took over starting duties for Syracuse. Slowed at the beginning of this season by recovery from a foot injury, Kaempfer is hitting .174 with two doubles and five RBIs on the season. She has started 28 of 38 games behind the plate for the Orangewomen.
Looking back: Kaempfer made a name for herself behind the plate at Bonanza by earning three consecutive Sun All-State honorable mention nods. Kaempfer also earned All-Sunset Conference accolades from her sophomore year through her senior year with the Bengals. Kaempfer competed as a member of the Vegas Stars team in the high school offseason as well.
