Boom to protect Parker Dam

As a security measure, the Bureau of Reclamation is installing a boom across the Colorado River below Parker Dam, between California and Arizona downstream from Hoover Dam.
The boom, about 500 feet away from the dam, is designed to prevent boaters from moving into the dam's security zone, bureau spokesman Bob Walsh said.
