Booker T. Armstrong

Booker T. Armstrong, 66, of Las Vegas died March 17 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 14, 1936, in Union, Miss. A resident for 40 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by one son, Billy Armstrong, and two daughters, Kenya Armstrong and Betty Thames, all of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Suellen Atkinson

Suellen Atkinson, 61, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Washburn, Mo. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; five daughters, Amy Davidson and Julie Coon, both of Las Vegas, Susan Atkinson of Henderson, Toni Garz of Ashton, Idaho, and Tammi Dempsey of Washington state; three sons, Tom Ciciliano and Jeffrey Atkinson, both of Las Vegas, and Mark Jordan of Rogers, Ark.; her mother and stepfather, Betty and Frank Foster, and one brother, Terry Wilson, all of Rogers; two sisters, Marietta Bowman of Henderson and Judy Sunday of Rogers; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Anna C. Beek

Anna C. Beek, 88, of Bellflower, Calif., died March 13 in Bellflower. She was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Iowa. A former Las Vegas resident for 32 years, she was a department store clerk.

She is survived by one son, Eugene Baker of Bellflower; one daughter, Arylene Smith of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Heddy Boring

Heddy Boring, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 4, 1919, in Germany. A resident for 45 years, she owned Heddy's Fabric for 36 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Brigitte Credico, Monika Pinkus, Annette Parker and Heidi Harrington, and one son, Fritz Uebler, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Mayme E. Calvin

Mayme E. Calvin, 99, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 9, 1903, in Foreman, Ark. A resident for two years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

Joseph Anthony Costanza

Joseph Anthony Costanza, 63, of Las Vegas died March 18 in Las Vegas. He was born May 7, 1939, in Auburn, Pa. A resident for 14 months, he was a retired food distributor.

He is survived by his companion, Stella Ann Meyer of Las Vegas; five children; two brothers, Don Costanza of Texas and Barry Magedman of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Delores Lakin of Channel Islands, Calif., Marlena of Sacramento and Lil MacDonald of Oceanside, Calif.

Mae Ebarb, 90, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Zwolle, La. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Argerine Giles of Henderson and Doris Way of Las Vegas; one son, Joe Ebarb of Henderson; one sister, Gladys Remedies of Zwolle; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday with a 6 p.m. rosary at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Ara Nakaiah Freeman

Ara Nakaiah Freeman, 5 weeks, of Las Vegas died March 18 in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 2003, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Sakeenah Morris, her father, Leonte Freeman, and one sister, Akairah Williams, all of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Leonard Freeman of California and Nyla Screws of Minneapolis; and great-grandmothers, Shirley Colquitt and Erlene Diggs, both of California.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Eva Gonzales, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Fort Huachuca, Ariz. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by seven daughters, Grace Hernandez of Strathmore, Calif., Eva Ybarra, Mary Helen Hernandez and Rosemarie Hernandez, all of Peoria, Ariz., Joanne Fredieu of Las Vegas, Frances Gonzales of Phoenix and Rachel Marquez of Fontana, Calif.; three sons, Arthur Gonzales, Ruben Gonzales Jr. and Eddie Gonzales, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Robert Catalan and Jesse Catalan, both of Surprise, Ariz., and David Catalan of Nebraska; three sisters, Stella Aguire of Merced, Calif., Fedela Mandia of San Diego and Lily Parra of Norwalk, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be in Phoenix.

Dana Gullion

Dana Gullion, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1954, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Vest of Las Vegas; one sister, Terri Steiner of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one brother, Jon Gullion of Hemet, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Morolyne 'Sweet Dixon' Harris

Morolyne "Sweet Dixon" Harris, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Mississippi. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; four sons, Ray Mims and Victor Dixon, both of Las Vegas, Funches Dixon of New Orleans and Antonio Carr of Texas; one daughter, Toni Butler, and three sisters, Angelean Drayton, Minnie Parker and Hester Ennis, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, James Boyd and Willie Boyd, both of Las Vegas, and John C. Boyd of Massachusetts; 16 grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled noon today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Grace W. Kahn

Grace W. Kahn, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 18, 1918, in Texas. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired vice president of a mortgage company.

She is survived by one daughter, Rainy Kahn-Montoya.

The deceased requested no services, but Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, assisted with arrangements.

Hannah Marie Lewis

Hannah Marie Lewis, 43, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born April 5, 1959, in Michigan. A resident for seven years, she was a cashier.

She is survived by one daughter, Tamika Lewis, and one son, Thomas D. Lewis Jr., both of Detroit; her parents, Leon and Vivian Lewis of North Las Vegas; four brothers, Arturo Sutton of Henderson, Muzaffar A. Ata of Muskegon, Mich., Anthony Lewis of North Las Vegas and Tammy Lewis of California; one sister, Cassandra M. Lewis of Henderson; three stepbrothers, David Martin, Duane Lewis, and Tony Lewis, and one stepsister, Paula Walker, all of Detroit; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be private. Burial will be in Boulder City Cemetery.

Robert Brace Leydecker Sr.

Robert Brace Leydecker Sr., 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 6, 1926, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired landscaper and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Robert B. Leydecker Jr. of Henderson and William E. Leydecker and Barry A. Leydecker, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Sandra Maciejewski, Barbra Kaczmarek and Mary Mulqueen, all of Buffalo; one brother, Eugene Leydecker of California City, Calif.; his companion, Marlene Leydecker-Runnells of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Robert V. McDaniel, 60, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Sebastopol, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired kitchen cabinet designer.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Wanda McDaniel of Big Springs, Texas, Robin Shearer of Hattiesburg, La., and Shanna McNay of North Las Vegas; two sons, Thomas McDaniel of Houston and Steven McDaniel of Big Springs; his mother, Edna McDaniel, and one sister, Donna Werme, both of Pahrump; one brother, Douglas McDaniel of John Day, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.

Gizella Moore

Gizella Moore, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 15, 1937, in Ketternyulak, Hungary. A resident for 17 years, she was a hotel hostess.

She is survived by one son, Julius Kiss Jr. of Las Vegas; three daughters, Gigi Johnson of Coarse Gold, Calif., Eva Nadj of Las Vegas and Tammy Moore of Hesperia, Calif.; five sisters; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Florence E. Olson

Florence E. Olson, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 27, 1925, in Milan, Ill. A resident for two years, she was a retired hotel waitress.

She is survived by one son, Gary Lee Olson of Garland, Texas; three daughters, Ellen Davidson of Milan, Ill., and Sharon Shew and Evelyn Uhrich, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Grubaugh of Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thomas F. Olson, 52, of Las Vegas, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 10, 1950, in Bloomfield, Neb. A resident for nine years, he was a secondary school educator and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Lena A.; one sister, Jean T. Olson of Oak Park, Ill.; and one brother, Donald F. Olson of Winnemucca.

Keith R. Prescott Sr., 29, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 18, 1973, in Kingman, Ariz. A resident for 15 years, he was a mortgage loan officer.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia; three sons, Chaisson Prescott, Keaton Prescott and Richard Prescott, all of North Las Vegas; his parents, Richard and Julia Prescott, and three brothers, Kenny Prescott, Kevin Prescott and Richard Prescott, all of Las Vegas.

Leah Ilean Cole Rackley, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Salt Lake City. A resident for three years, she was a caregiver.

She is survived by four sons, Clifford Rackley of Hacienda Heights, Calif., Michael Rackley of San Bernardino, Calif., Mark Rackley of San Leandro, Calif., and Scott Rackley of Las Vegas; three sisters, Velma Ray of Lakewood, Calif., and Shirley and Vera, both of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be in Salt Lake City.

Edda Rantz

Edda Rantz, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Pola, Yugoslavia. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Harry Rantz III of Henderson and Norman Rantz of Boca Raton, Fla.; four sisters; one brother; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by two stepsons, Don Sutton of Tennessee and Otto Sutton of California; one sister, Janet Wilson of Boulder City; one brother, Paul Jerabek of Willoughby, Ohio.

Julie Ann Gertrude Weatherly, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born June 16, 1938, in Dunn Center, N.D. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, Brion Gay of Las Vegas; six daughters, Debra Shelton, Debra Shelton, Rose Baggs and Lori Thayer, all of Las Vegas, Lori Thayer of Sandy Valley and Twila Drew of Sandy Valley; two brothers, Hubert Nelson of Las Vegas and Wilbur Nelson of Sparks; two sisters, Margarete Peterson of Valley City, N.D., and Marlene Warden of Salem, Ore.; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bernard J. Weiss, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Roslyn Heights, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired Broadway theatre technician on Broadway in New York City, graduated from the U.S. Institute of Theatre Technology and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; one daughter, Kim Weiss of Los Angeles; one son, Jeff Weiss of Des Moines, Iowa; and one brother, Seymour Weiss of Solon, Ohio.

Denver Joe Wright

Denver Joe Wright, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Oklahoma. A resident for 30 years, he was an auto body shop repairman.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Yvonne; two daughters, Sylvia Dyke of Las Vegas and Kathren Taylor of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, Thomas Wright and Daniel Wright, both of Las Vegas; three brothers; three sisters; and 17 grandchildren.
