Tuesday, March 25, 2003 | 11:07 a.m.
Former Drug Enforcement Administration agent Steven Kinney pleaded guilty today to a federal charge of coercion and enticement of a minor for sex.
As part of a federal plea agreement the U.S. attorney's office is recommending that Kinney, 43, be sentenced to three years in prison. The maximum sentence on the charge is 15 years.
Kinney has pleaded guilty in Clark County District Court to 15 counts of solicitation of a minor in connection with charges that allege Kinney tried to solicit sex by offering money in notes thrown near boys.
The Clark County plea agreement calls for District Attorney Eric Jorgenson not to argue for more than 12 years of prison time for Kinney.
Sentencing on the local charges is scheduled for May, while Kinney will be sentenced on the federal charge in June.
Kinney was fired from the DEA.
