Letter: NRC chief biased on nuke power
Friday, March 21, 2003 | 9:20 a.m.
Richard Meserve, the biased chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, has testified before Congress that nuclear power is safe and secure from terrorism.
If it is so safe, why doesn't Congress rescind the Price-Anderson Act, which limits the nuclear power producer's liability in the event of a nuclear catastrophe? What has been done to make nuclear plants secure?
The NRC, under Chairman Meserve, has been biased toward the nuclear power industry and has nothing to fear from the biased Bush administration. Contact President Bush and remind him about his pledge of science, not politics.
