Las Vegas Area Fishing Report: Cold weather slows Lake Mead action

NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE
Creel census clerks reported that fishing pressure was low due to the weather front that came through the area.
Anglers who participated in last week's striped bass tournament were successful landing fish that ranged from 10-18 pounds. Anglers reported success using large lures and trolling deep.
NDOW was scheduled to stock Hemenway Cove, Pumphouse Cove (B5), North Saddle Cove (B3), and Horsepower Cove today. It is the last Lake Mead stocking of the season.
NDOW stocked Willow Beach Thursday for the final time this stocking season.
Anglers fishing Illipah Reservoir with PowerBait were successful landing stocked rainbow trout that averaged 12 inches.
Anglers fishing Comins Lake reported better success than the previous week. Fly fishermen using Midges landed a few fish that ranged from 5 to 7 pounds. Several anglers using top-water lures landed fish from 2 to 4 pounds.
Haymeadow Reservoir anglers using PowerBait landed the 12-inch stocked trout, with a few that measured 14-16 inches were also taken. Anglers fishing Cold Springs was successful landing trout that ranged 13-14 inches. A few 18-inch fish were also landed.
