Passenger traffic at McCarran International Airport was up 4 percent over the same month the previous year, but 4.2 percent below levels reported in February 2001, airport officials said Tuesday.
The airport said 2.7 million passengers flew to and from McCarran in February and the five major carriers serving Las Vegas had increases for the month.
Market leader Southwest Airlines flew 903,091 passengers, an 11.3 percent increase over February 2002.
January was the first month McCarran had more passengers than it had in the corresponding month in 2001, but February's totals were below the 2.8 million passengers reported in February 2001.
