Demonstration held in support of defect bill
Wednesday, March 19, 2003 | 11:06 a.m.
A group demonstrated in support of Senate Bill 241 outside the Sawyer State Building in Las Vegas today as a teleconferenced legislative meeting took place inside.
The bill, supported by home builders and contractors, is aimed at reducing the number of construction defect lawsuits in Las Vegas courts.
The measure would guarantee builders an opportunity to correct defects before lawsuits are filed. But homeowner attorneys say they'll fight efforts to limit homeowners' rights, including the right to sue.
