Fine Arts Festival set for students

Elementary and middle school students in grades K-8 will display their talents in art, dance, drama and music during the Fine Arts Festival from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Mojave High School, 5302 Goldfield St., North Las Vegas.

Art teachers will display their students' two and three-dimensional work, while providing hands-on art activities for families in areas such as water color painting, weaving, textures, origami, and pottery.

Doolittle Center will celebrate reopening

The grand reopening of the Doolittle Community Center will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the center, 1950 N. J St. The public is invited to take a tour of the new center from 10 a.m to noon the following day.

The VIP celebration will unveil the Walk of Memories, a pathway lined with engraved bricks that were purchased by community leaders, business owners and local residents.
