Letter: Saddam must be taken out immediately
Tuesday, March 18, 2003 | 8:57 a.m.
I'd like to express my views and issues concerning the world's public, but especially the American public and the Iraqi public.
Saddam Hussein has now become George Bush's problem when this problem should have been extinguished years ago by other responsible world leaders. Granted, there are other leaders who could have handled this situation with Iraq as well as President George Bush, but none could have handled it better.
Through different media outlets we have heard some views that Saddam is not involved in terrorism. Ladies and gentlemen, try referring to the always faithful dictionary:
1) Terrorism is defined as "a system of government that rules by intimidation."
2) Terror is defined as "a person or thing that causes extreme fear."
Now just think about it, if Saddam no longer had any type of weapons of mass destruction, including chemical, bio and nuclear weapons, he still has other means of mutilating and destroying his own people.
Also, if Saddam did not have any weapons of mass destruction, the Iraqi people might be more willing to attempt some sort of coup or overthrow of their dictating, murdering and terroristic oriented government.
So, if human rights are to be upheld we have no choice but to get rid of that "thing" called Saddam Hussein. Now is the time and not a second later.
