Keller will go to work for Le Reve

Tuesday, March 18, 2003 | 9:44 a.m.

Two months after retiring as Clark County sheriff, Jerry Keller has accepted a job as security chief of Le Reve, Wynn Resorts announced Monday.

Keller will begin his job May 1 as vice president of corporate security, spokeswoman Wendy Dombrowski said. The $2 billion resort is set open in April 2005. Security concerns have become more important with the threat of terrorism, which is a reason that Keller was tapped for the job, she said.

He was a Metro Police officer for 33 1/2 years, including eight years as head of the nation's seventh-largest police department.

"Sheriff Keller brings a dimension of leadership to the challenge of protecting our staff and guests that will undoubtedly make Le Reve a safer place in a world that has become far more complex," Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts, said.

"Hiring Jerry Keller is consistent with the beliefs held by Wynn Resorts and Le Reve management that the safety of our staff and guests is a top priority," Wynn said. "Personally, I am extremely delighted on behalf of our family to have the presence of his company."

Keller was not available for comment.
