SUN CAPITAL BUREAU
CARSON CITY -- The Senate Transportation Committee Wednesday agreed to sponsor a bill to repeal the law that requires motorcyclists to wear helmets.
But the bill, which was to be officially introduced today, appears to be in trouble already. Sens. Dennis Nolan, R-Las Vegas, and Maggie Carlton, D-North Las Vegas, objected to its introduction.
Traditionally members on a committee unanimously agree to introduce a bill with the reservation that it does not require them to support it.
When introduced, the bill will be referred to the seven-member transportation committee.
