Bill would disclose private salon numbers

CARSON CITY -- A bill has been introduced in the Senate to give the public a glimpse of how gaming salons for high-rollers in Las Vegas are doing.
Senate Bill 266 would require casinos to compile monthly the number of customers and the amount of the gaming win from the salons. The state Gaming Control Board would create a summary of the information to be made public. But the compiled information must not identify the casino, a specific customer or how much a casino earned.
Three high-roller gaming salons operate in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay.
The board has a policy now of not releasing compiled information unless five casinos are involved, in an effort to prevent anybody from finding out what one casino may have grossed.
The bill was introduced and referred to the Judiciary Committee.
