Rodolfo Montanez Arellano

Rodolfo Montanez Arellano, 29, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1974, in Mexico. A resident for five years, he was a cook.

He is survived by his father, Ignacio Montanez; his mother, Celia Arellano; four brothers, Jesus Montanez, Ignacio Montanez, Jose Luis Montanez and Fausto Martinez; and three sisters, Blanca-Estella Montanez, Sylvia-Elena Montanez and Celia Alejandra Montanez.

Jay O. Bagstad

Jay O. Bagstad, 80, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Minnesota. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired loan officer for the federal government, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Friendship Force International, a volunteer at Alan Bible Visitors Center and a former docent at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Barbara Buchter of Henderson and Patricia Wong of Phoenix; two sons, Michael Bagstad of The Woodlands, Texas, and David Bagstad of Houston; one brother, Donald Bagstad of Denver; two sisters, Carol Thompto of West Allis, Wis., and Judith Hilbert of Lake Geneva, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jutauvian A. Brightwell

Jutauvian A. Brightwell, 13, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 20, 1989, in Las Vegas. She was an honor roll student, a member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church youth choir, Step Team and Critical Kondition Dance Group.

She is survived by her mother, Vyranett Black of North Las Vegas; her father, Jessie A. Brightwell, one sister, Shanae Irland, and one brother, Jessie Brightwell Jr., all of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Irma L. Black of North Las Vegas, Susie C. Dorsey of Los Angeles and Henry Black Sr. and Jesse Waller, both of Las Vegas; and her great-grandmother, Irene Daniel of Las Vegas.

Visitation was Monday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Patricia Holt Cook

Patricia Holt Cook, 54, of Pahrump died Feb. 28. She was born April 19, 1947, in Minneapolis. She was an over-the-road owner-operator truck driver with her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Amy Jo Williams of Blaine, Minn., and Trish Polk of Las Vegas; two brothers, Tom Holt of North Carolina and Charles Holt of Lubbock, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Maxwell Cooper

Maxwell Cooper, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 21, 1924, in New York City. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired radio operator, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the Veterans Wireless Operators Association Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; one son, Richard Cooper, and two daughters, Diane Hill and Bonnie Cooper, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Cooper of Thousand Palms, Calif.; two brothers, Paul Cooper of Miami and Robert Cooper of Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled 10:40 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lorene Cowden, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Springfield, Mo. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Russ; two sons, Ray Cowden of Long Beach, Calif., and Don Cowden of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Eslinger of Springfield, Mo., and Roxie of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be in Springfield. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

John Davis

John Davis, 75, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born April 12, 1927, in Harrisburg, Pa. A Nevada resident for 42 years, he was a retired federal government employee, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a member of Perseverance Lodge 21, American Legion Post 55 and Stallion Mountain Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Annabel "Anne."

Joan M. Denomme

Joan M. Denomme, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born May 11, 1934, in Toronto. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired restaurant manager.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Madro, and one son, Michael J. Denomme, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Leonard Cowan, and one sister, Delores Cowan, both of Toronto; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

She is survived by one daughter, Frances Giattino of Las Vegas; two sons, Salvatore Riccobono of Concord, Calif., and Steven Riccobono of Martinez, Calif.; one sister, Rose Caserta of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one brother, Joseph Rao of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.

Elayne Eiselman, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Morristown, N.J. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker, a member of B'nai B'rith, sisterhood president for Temple Beth El in Salinas, Calif., and Los Angeles, a youth group leader and den mother for various children's groups and head majorette for Morristown High School.

She is survived by her companion, Dennis Eiselman of Las Vegas; one son, Robert Eiselman of Sacramento; two daughters, Susan Cane of Henderson and Cynthia Eiselman of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Charles T. Floyd, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 3, 1928, in Rome, Ga. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one daughter, Regina L. Floyd, and one son, John C. Floyd, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Martha Gray of Cartersville, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Charles D. Hertig

Charles D. Hertig, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in West Alexander, Pa. A resident for 46 years, he was a truck driver for Reynolds Electric at the Nevada Test Site, an Air Force veteran, a member of Teamsters Local 631 and the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly D.; two sons, Charles D. Hertig Jr. and Randy Hertig, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Martha Strohecker of Washington, Pa., and Beth McCammon of West Alexander, Pa.; and two grandsons.

John L. Kurtz, 78, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Hempstead, N.Y. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired professor in broadcasting, a member of National Association of Broadcasters, Alpha Epsilon Rho and Phi Kappa Phi and a volunteer mediator at Henderson Justice Court.

He is survived by his wife, Cathryn; two daughters, Colleen Gougar of Henderson and Terry Kurtz of Las Vegas; two brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren.

Clara E. Laffan, 85, of Las Vegas died Feb. 28 in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Mississippi. A resident for 48 years, she was a hotel hostess.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Evans of Las Vegas; three sons, Carl Hatfield of Las Vegas and William Evans and Mack Evans, both of Louisiana; and four grandchildren.

Roy R. LeFever

Roy R. LeFever, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 23, 1909, in Canada. A resident for five years, he was a typesetter, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Masons and Scottish Rite of Dayton, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Nanette Caster and Sharon Kaylor; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Donna J. Letourneau

Donna J. Letourneau, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1930, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Philip A.; three sons, Steve Letourneau and Terry Letourneau, both of Duluth, and Greg Letourneau of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jeanie Stenberg of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Kenneth James Lynch

Kenneth James Lynch, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 45 years, he was a bartender, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of Local 165.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Corrine; one brother, Hugh Lynch of Atlanta; and nine grandchildren.

Myra "Faye" McCulloch, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 4, 1925, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. A resident for 41 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Schaberg of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Carol Steele of Las Vegas; two sons, Billy McCulloch of Henderson and Joe McCulloch of Las Vegas; one sister, Mozelle Shute of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Petra O. Moreno

Petra O. Moreno, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born July 31, 1912, in David, Panama. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired teacher's aide and a member of the Foster Grandparents of Southern Nevada.

She is survived by two daughters, Tilcia M. Dickerson and Gladys A. Malone, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 5 p.m. vigil Wednesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Allen Nabutovsky, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 12, 1930, in Trenton, N.J. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired casino bartender.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Nabit; one daughter, Alaina Giguiere of Cannon Beach, Ore.; one son, Donald Nabit of Las Vegas; one brother, Merwin Nabit of Deerfield, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Margarita Nevarez

Margarita Nevarez, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 5, 1944, in Mexico. A resident for 15 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by two brothers, Angel Nevarez and Ignacio Nevarez, both of Mexico.

Hazel M. Otte, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Sioux Falls, S.D. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired meat wrapper for Alpha Beta markets in California.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Otte of Palm Springs, Calif., and Steve Otte of Las Vegas; five sisters, Betty Royea of Palm Desert, Calif., Phyllis Maxson of Laguna Hills, Calif., Dorothy Iantorno of Seal Beach, Calif., Jenny Taylor of Long Beach, Calif., and Caroll Davis of Irvine, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ivan "Bill" Paletz, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Los Angeles. A resident for 10 years, he worked on an assembly line at a food packaging plant and was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Nel Paletz of Las Vegas; one sister, Elaine D'Angona of Granada Hills, Calif.; and one brother, Gary Paletz of Elk Grove, Calif.

Margery L. Pochowski

Margery L. Pochowski, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Milwaukee. A resident for 4 1/2 years, she was a housekeeper for an insurance company.

She is survived by her husband, Sylvester J.; six daughters, Darla Davis, Kim Lulay and Traci Rzutkiewicz, all of Milwaukee, Judy Boone and Dawn Snider, both of Las Vegas, and Deb Schmitz of West Allis, Wis.; four sons, Michael Pochowski of Las Vegas, Peter Pochowski and Jeffrey Pochowski, both of Milwaukee, and Scott Pochowski of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Arthur Zingsheim of Oak Creek, Wis., and James Zingsheim of Greendale, Wis.; two sisters, Ethel Melichar and Loretta Stadler, both of West Allis, Wis.; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Warlito L. Quioan, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Baguio City, Philippines. A resident for 21 years, he was a hotel waiter.

He is survived by his wife, Elfreda; four brothers, Gregorio Quioan, Andres Quioan Jr. and George Quioan, all of Los Angeles, and Vicente Quioan of Las Vegas; three sisters, Alice Pastrana, Veronica Andrea Lacuesta and Andrea Lacuesta, all of Los Angeles.

Geraldine H. Sheets, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Ohio. A resident for 20 years, she was a key punch operator.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Sr.; one son, Robert Sheets Jr.; one daughter, Ruth Turner; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Jeffrey Wiseman of Cornwall, N.Y., and Scott Wiseman of Portland, Ore.; one brother, Norman Stern of North Miami Beach, Fla.; and one grandson.
