COLUMBIA, Md. -- Magellan Health Services Inc., a manager of mental-health services in Nevada and other states, today filed for bankruptcy to cope with almost $1.5 billion in debt and said most of its creditors have agreed to support a recovery plan.

Spokeswoman Kristin Brunnworth said the company has about 88,000 Nevada members that are being serviced by about 150 contracted healthcare providers in the state.
