Letter: 2004 too late to replace Bush
Tuesday, March 11, 2003 | 8:56 a.m.
Enough is enough! People around the world have spoken and want a peaceful solution to the Iraq crisis. Why doesn't the Bush administration listen?
Does anyone want their kids, or others' kids, returning home in body bags? I think not, especially when the problem can be peacefully resolved.
If the rogue cowboy attitude prevails who will pay for this injustice? Our grandchildren and their offspring, that's who. The rest of the world sees us as a bully and rightly so, if one believes in the path this administration is taking.
How did we become a fascist state since 2000? How far will the Constitution be undermined before sanity prevails? Do Americans think we should start an unprovoked war? If so, doesn't that make us the terrorists? Which country has the most weapons of mass destruction? The U.S. Which country has used the nuclear bomb? The U.S.
Why does the Bush administration have tunnel vision towards Iraq while North Korea looms as a bigger threat? Why is the U.S. defecting from NATO and refusing to take advice from the United Nations Security Council?
Why aren't billions of dollars being earmarked for alternate energy sources for domestic use instead of war, mayhem and destruction? When will our economy be allowed to rebound? Why wasn't the successful virtual march on Washington covered by the local media? When will the voice of the people be heard? We can't wait until 2004.
