Essay contest on patriotism set
Local teens with something to say on patriotism can win awards for themselves and their schools in a national essay contest.
PeprallyUSA.com is conducting a contest for the best essays on patriotism from middle and high school students.
Top winners in each of three age categories will receive $1,500, to be shared with their teachers and schools.

Boy Scouts will collect used clothes
Goodwill of Southern Nevada, Deseret Industries and the Boy Scouts present "Good Turn Day," a community drive event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Boy Scouts will be collecting bags of "gently used" clothing and household items at homes throughout Southern Nevada, to help benefit Goodwill and Desert Industries.

Garden club plans Spring Fantasy
Spring Fantasy is the theme for the Nevada Garden Club's flower bulb show to be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.
The event will feature floral designs, blooming annuals and other horticulture.
