Letter: Argument on use of weapons not reasoned
Monday, March 10, 2003 | 8:53 a.m.
I am writing in response to Dawn Richey's Feb. 28 letter about President Bush provoking an already bad world situation.
First, she says that no government would ever use "weapons of mass destruction on another government." Iraq has not only already used weapons of mass destruction on other countries such as Iran, it has used weapons of mass destruction on its own people. Do the research.
Second, she says the poor citizens of Iraq are not citizens of our country. So with that thinking, we should not have gotten involved in World War II with Germany either, right? Sometimes it's important to get involved in other countries' affairs. She also says that going to war is only going to cause terrorists to "join Allah" by committing more acts of terrorism. Yet it seems to me that terrorists who want to cause terror will do so in peacetime or war -- just as long as we are not expecting it.
