Las Vegas women honored

A Nevada Supreme Court justice and 18 other Nevada women were honored at the fifth annual local Women of Distinction Awards over the weekend.
The awards, in conjunction with Women's History Month, were sponsored by the National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada Chapter and Sprint Corp.
Honored were Nevada Supreme Court Justice Nancy Becker, Lisa Hammond, Carol Harter, Maureen Mullarkey, Susan Schwartz, Deborah Pierce, Charlotte Hill, Carolyn Sparks, Lisa Wright, Debra Baez, Angela Ziel, Shari Sutton, Phyllis Cadoff and Suzanne LeBlanc.
Five women -- Doris Charles, Kara Kelley, Ann Lynch, Cindy Kiser Murphey and Shannon Cook -- were nominated for a "Glass Ceiling Award." The award went to Charles, Wells Fargo Bank's president of Southern Nevada Community Banking.
