Las Vegas Art District will showcase local artists, unique shops and street entertainment from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. the first Friday of each month at Main St. and Charleston Blvd. Admission is free. 678-6278.

Festival

Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will continue a monthlong celebration of National Women's History Month with a "Weekend of Enlightenment," beginning at 7 p.m. today with a keynote speech by former Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones and continuing at 11 a.m. Saturday with a panel discussion on Southern Nevada's health care crisis at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Lombroso Award

The Sergio Lombroso Award in Cancer Research is being presented to Tony Hunter of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in London by the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. Chili taste-off
