Company founder retires

Friday, March 7, 2003 | 9:58 a.m.

John Stuart, the founder of On Stage Entertainment Inc., has retired to pursue other interests.

On Stage was formed 20 years ago with the creation of the "Legends in Concert" show, a performance now running at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas and featuring singers who impersonate Elvis, James Brown and Liza Minnelli, among others.

"Fortunately the company has a very talented pool of management, employees and performers who have been running the company for some time and are committed to continued improvement to our existing venues and shows. We wish John well in his new endeavors," company Chief Executive Timothy Parrott said.

Parrott will assume the additional role of chairman.

On Stage specializes in staged musical tributes with various themes including country music, Mardi Gras and comedy. Stage shows appear at casinos, conventions, major arenas, theme parks and on cruise lines. The company also creates customized shows for corporate clients and others.

The publicly traded company generates $30 million in sales and has 400 employees.
