Ed Andrews

Ed Andrews, 84, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 19, 1918, in Los Angeles. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired director of finance in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by his wife, Nita; two daughters, Judith Stoll of Nevada and Margaret Andrews of Washington state; three sons, Gary Andrews and Scott Andrews, both of Poway, Calif., and Cary Andrews of West Jordan, Utah; one stepdaughter, Carrie Thornton of Victor, Mont.; one stepson, Don Thorton of Las Vegas; one stepsister, Frances Lyons of Illinois; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Grace Community Church, 1150 Wyoming St., Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Betty J. Baker

Betty J. Baker, 77, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 2, 1925, in Alva, Okla. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired telephone company clerk.

She is survived by one son, Wade G. Baker of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Patricia Ruth Blakemore

Patricia Ruth Blakemore, 76, of Las Vegas died Feb. 26 in Las Vegas. She was born July 24, 1926, in Nevada. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Candace P. Swanson of Las Vegas; one sister, Aletha Liu; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday at the LDS Cedar Creek Ward, 1707 Sloan Lane. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Harold Burden

Harold Burden, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 15, 1939, in Wayne County, N.C. A resident for seven years, he was a retired operations manager for a delivery service and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Jane Johnson of Las Vegas; one son, Andre Best of Cary, N.C.; two sisters, Shirley Blue and Doris Bell, both of Goldsboro, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled two hours prior to a 2 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Kurt Leo Carmody Sr.

Kurt Leo Carmody Sr., 46, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1956, in Las Vegas. A resident for eight years, he was a service manager, a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Kurt Leo Carmody Jr. and Kristopher Lee Carmody, both of Norwalk, Calif.; his mother, Joyce Eaton of Brockton, Mass.; two sisters, Kahli Faivre of Delray Beach, Fla., and Kim Barrett of Brandon, Miss.; and two ex-wives, Debbie Carmody of Las Vegas and the mother of his children, Frances Oliver of Norwalk.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services and burial will be in Massachusetts.

Nedra Karen Cowherd

Nedra Karen Cowherd, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Idaho. A resident for 35 years, she was a youth counselor and active with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Williams of Alaska and John Shiffler of Las Vegas; five daughters, Pamela Cyr and Gina Porter, both of Las Vegas, Lisa Danka of Arizona, Colleen Williams of Utah and Jennifer Wohlenberg of California; two brothers, Bill Larson of Alabama and Chuck Larson of North Carolina; two sisters, Charlene Stewart of Washington, D.C., and Eleanore Parkinson of Idaho; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Arlene R. Doeller

Arlene R. Doeller, 71, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born June 24, 1931, in Scottsville, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired legal secretary.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharlene Dibble and Sandra Anderson, both of Henderson, and Mary Gevatosky of Eugene, Ore.; three sons, John J. Doeller III of Leroy, N.Y., Michael J. Doeller of Pahrump and James A. Doeller of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Harold J. Resch of Rochester; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4:30-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 8:15 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Patrick Robert Driscoll Sr., 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday.

He is survived by three children, David Driscoll, Patrick Driscoll Jr. and Erin Driscoll; and one brother, John Driscoll of Nevada City, Pa.

Stanley G. Dugmore

Stanley G. Dugmore, 84, of Tennessee died Tuesday in Tennessee. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an accountant, a World War II Navy veteran and a board member and treasurer of Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue.

He is survived by one son, Dan Dugmore; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Norma I. Eckhout, 75, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Hunter, N.D. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for the Culinary Union.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald Holley of Seattle and Michael Eckhout of Boulder City; and one grandchild.

John R. Eustace

John R. Eustace, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Clarksburg, W.Va. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired school district administrator, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three sons, John of Pooler, Ga., Alex of Simi Valley, Calif., and Gary of Jasper, Ala.; two daughters, Lisa Cardwell of Laughlin and Zonna Lindgren of Lancaster, Calif.; one brother, Jim Eustace of Brookings, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Paul Frederico

Paul Frederico, 94, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 4, 1908, in Donaldson, La. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired aircraft machinist.

He is survived by two daughters, Nicole Powel and Amy Hawley, and two sons, Dave Powel and Bryan Hawley, all of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruth Eileen Gurgens, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 5, 1921, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for five years, she was a retired grocery clerk.

She is survived by two sons, John Gurgens of Estes Park, Colo., and Jerald Gurgens of Las Vegas; five daughters, JoAnn Doggett-Micklesavage and Ginger Bohling, both of Las Vegas, Marian Beers and Linda Hatton, both of Longmont, Colo., and Janice Nicol of Cedar Park, Texas; one brother, Jack Covell of Chesapeake, W.Va.; three sisters, Jean Chance and Vivian Pries, both of Las Vegas and Shirley Bates of Phoenix; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Bernard A. Harris, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired glass contractor, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; one daughter, Marlene Shube of Las Vegas; two sisters, Sandy and Laurie, both of California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Adalberto Hernandez, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Cuba. A resident for 10 years, he was disabled.

He is survived by five sons, Osvaldo Hernandez, Leonel Hernandez and Alexis Hernandez, all of Las Vegas, and Luis Hernandez and Lazaro Hernandez, both of California; two daughters, Isabel Hernandez of California and Stephanie of Las Vegas; five sisters, Mary Hernandez, Nora Hernandez and Norma Alfazak, all of Las Vegas, Violeta Hernandez of Cuba and Anita Saaverda of Alaska; three brothers, Gus Hernandez and Lazaro Hernandez, both of Las Vegas, and Jorge Hernandez of California; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Richard Elvige Kern, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A tire serviceman, he was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Mississippi.

He is survived by two brothers, Ladallis Kern of Las Vegas and Branch W. Kern of Mississippi; and four sisters, Thelma K. Winters, Alfrances Kern and Margaret R. Kern, all of Mississippi, and Gloria Davis of California.

James M. Lee

James M. Lee, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1925, in O'Brien, Fla. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Teamsters Union and a 32nd Degree Mason.

He is survived by one son, Marvin Lee of Enterprise, Ala.; one daughter, Mary Chapman of Las Vegas; two brothers, Ira Lee of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and William Lee of Jacksonville, Fla.; six sisters, Doris Grantham of Perry, Fla., Dorothy Lee, Gertrude Lee and Frances Lee, all of Jacksonville, Geneva Disch of Overland, Kan., and Betty Dormanie of Georgia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Walter LeRoy Lynch II

Walter LeRoy Lynch II, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Utica, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired security officer at Binion's Horseshoe and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, William Lynch and Walter LeRoy Lynch III, both of Las Vegas, and James M. Lynch of California; one daughter, Denise Shillings of Texas; and numerous grandchildren.

Robert V. O'Brien

Robert V. O'Brien, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born March 8, 1916, in Syracuse, N.Y. A resident for two years, he was a retired mechanic for a manufacturing company.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bunny Adams.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Robert O'Brien of Virginia and Donald Adams of Las Vegas; and one brother, Gene O'Brien of Virginia.

Paul F. Plona, 79, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 4, 1923, in Wyandotte, Mich. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired welder for a utility company, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and an usher at Guardian Angel Cathedral.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia T. Davis of Michigan City, Ind., and Paula Johnnsen of Portland, Ore.; one son, David Plona of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister, Jane Garrett of Avon, Conn.; two brothers, Peter Plona of Wyandotte, Mich., and John Plona of California; and four grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons, David Rankin, John Rankin and Scott Rankin, all of Colorado Springs; one brother, John Rankin of Johnston, R.I.; two sisters, Jane O'Donnell of Centredale, R.I., and Beatrice Gostelli of South Carolina; and two grandchildren.

Ethan M. Repollo-Routt, 3, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Stella M. Repollo, and his father, Nathan S. Routt, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Roger and Gloria Repollo of Las Vegas and Earl and Ginger Loving of Henderson.

Anne Romeo, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 24 years, she was a retired supervisor in the garment industry and a member of the 2x4 Square Dance Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Nanette Rago of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, J.C.; one daughter, Sonia McCaffrey of Henderson; two sons, Travis Wilson of Fridley, Minn., and Rod Wilson of Hesperia, Calif.; her stepfather, Leonard Burks, and four sisters, Naomi Thompson, Gloria Jones, Kathleen Burks and Kathrine Burks, all of Arkansas; three brothers, Ralph Morgan of Arkansas and Larry Morgan and Lynn Morgan, both of Texas; and six grandchildren.

Joseph Skomski, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born July 28, 1925, in Hamtramck, Mich. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired business manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Grant Skomski of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; two daughters, Corey-Lynn Kern of Minden and Lee-Ann Graniglia of Las Vegas; one brother, Tony Skomski of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; four sisters, Helen Kulas, Dorothy Govan and Regina Ames, all of Michigan, and Marie Dugger of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

He is survived by on daughter, Deanna Seguin of Sharpsburg, Ga.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joan Bradley Walford, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 9, 1935, in Ely. A resident for 51 years, she was a Clark County School District cafeteria supervisor for 27 years.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Patrick; four sons, Donald Walford, Ronald Walford and Shawn Walford, all of Las Vegas and Robert Walford of Denver; one daughter, Cherie Dickinson of Henderson; one brother, Donald Bradley of Victorville, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Edge of Lindon, Utah, and Sharalea Lamoreaux of Las Vegas; and 13 grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Tenaya Steward, and her parents, Sylvester and Margree Wilburn, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Malia Turner of Little Rock, Ark.; and two brothers, Michael Middlebrook and Melvin Middlebrook, both of Blytheville, Ark.
