Despite a personal plea from Clark County Recorder Frances Deane, the Senate Government Affairs Committee voted Wednesday to allow the County Commission to eliminate her position after the next election.
Senate Bill 80, which goes to the floor of the Senate next, would authorize the Clark County Commission to provide that the duties of the office of the elected recorder be filled by the county clerk.
