Despite being confined to his hospital bed on Wednesday afternoon, UNLV head football coach John Robinson was still busy putting the finishing touches on some football business.
The school announced that Garrick McGee, a former assistant at the University of Toledo, has been hired as wide receivers coach, replacing DelVaughn Alexander, who left recently for a similar position at Oregon State.
McGee, who will turn 30 next month, was a college quarterback who played two years at Oklahoma, earning Big Eight Conference newcomer of the year honors as a junior in 1994. He started his career at Arizona State where he played one year under current Rebels assistant coach Bruce Snyder.
