Girl Scout cookies available for purchase
Sales of Girl Scout cookies continues throughout the Las Vegas Valley through March 16 at booths in front of markets and other stores.
The Scouts, who earn 60 to 65 cents per box, are selling eight varieties of cookies this year: Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Animal Treasures, Shortbread, Lemon Pastry Creams and Friendship Circles.
The cookies cot $3 per box.

Cancer prevention class on tap Wednesday
The American Cancer Society will offer a colorectal cancer prevention and early detection class from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330.
Participants will learn about prevention through nutrition and lifestyle and about detection through screenings.
The WomensCare Center is offering EZ Detect Kits, a home test for the early detection of bowel disorders for $5.

Synagogue to host concert of peace
Valley Outreach Synagogue will host a concert of peace at 7 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson.
Featured performer will be Karen Daniel, a singer/songwriter/recording artist from Nashville.
Admission is free, but a free-will offering is requested. All proceeds will go to Neve Shalom, a settlement in Israel where Jews and Muslims live together and are working toward peace in the region.

Bishop Gorman High School
