Tommy D. Armour Jr.

Dr. Tommy D. Armour Jr., 81, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 19, 1921, in New York City. A resident for 39 years, he retired after 35 years of being a surgeon, was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of Clark County Medical Society and was a team physician for the football and basketball teams at UNLV in the 1960s and '70s.

He is survived by his wife, Candis; four sons, Tommy Armour III and Sandy Armour, both of Dallas, Paul Armour of Columbus, Ohio, and Jock Armour of Toledo, Ohio; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Orlando D. Barlow

Orlando D. Barlow, 28, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1974, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for 24 years, he was a window cleaner.

He is survived by his mother, Shelia Barlow, one sister, Natasha Barlow, and his grandmothers, Georgia Derrico and Cynthia Andrews, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Gerardo Belmonte

Gerardo Belmonte, 28, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 3, 1974, in Mexico City. A resident for 10 years, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Delmy; one son, Alexander Belmonte of Las Vegas; his parents, Loreto and Maria Belmonte, and three sisters, Cande Belmonte, Gabriella Belmonte and Araceli Belmonte, all of Mexico; five brothers, Martin Belmonte and Loreto Belmonte, both of North Carolina, and Leonardo Belmonte, Juan Corlos Belmonte and Francisco Javier Belmonte, all of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Rafael M. Cappiello

Dr. Rafael M. Cappiello, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 16, 1930, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired physician.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Maria; two daughters, Aida Cappiello of Nanuet, N.Y., and Christina Galindo of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Carmen Cappiello and Albertina Cappiello, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Nedra Karen Cowherd

Nedra Karen Cowherd, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 35 years, she was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Idaho.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Williams of Alaska and John Shiffler of Las Vegas; five daughters, Pamela Cyr and Gina Porter, both of Las Vegas, Lisa Danka of Arizona, Colleen Williams of Utah and Jennifer Wohlenberg of California; two brothers, Bill Larson of Alabama and Chuck Larson of North Carolina; two sisters, Charlene Stewart of Washington, D.C., and Eleanore Parkinson of Iowa; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be noon Thursday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Robert L. Elgin

Robert L. Elgin, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md. A resident for four years, he was a retired vice president of finance for a carpet firm and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; three daughters, Karan Kendall of Smithsburg, Md., Michelle Morin of Las Vegas and Gina Garcia of Paramount, Calif.; four sons, Todd Elgin of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Scott Elgin of Glendora, Calif., and Tim Garcia and Dan Garcia, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Shari Wagner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 14 grandchildren.

June Emmel

June Emmel, 77, of Pahrump died Tuesday in Pahrump. She was born May 13, 1925, in Ohio. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired hostess and a member of Pahrump Public Land Advisory Committee.

She is survived by her companion, Jim K. Traughber; one son, Thomas Emmel; one daughter, Lynn Jackson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Armando Gomez, 64, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A barker, he was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Texas.

Faith Goss, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 5, 1940, in New York City. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Russell Weisenberg and Gregg Weisenberg, both of New York; one sister, Evelyn Tedisco of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Kyrle Hath

Kyrle Hath, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 21, 1926, in Lansing, Mich. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired cost engineer for an oil company, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Cost Engineers Association and the International Cost Engineers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Blaine Hath of Las Vegas and Craig Hath of San Diego; one daughter, Karen Bacik of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Gloria Scott of Las Vegas, Twyla Bertram and Nancy Stratton, both of California; and six grandchildren.

Barbara Joan Henschel, 82, of Santa Clara, Calif., died Saturday in Santa Clara. She was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Portland, Ore. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, she was a homemaker

She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Luongo of Las Vegas; one sister, Marjorie Culler of Santa Clara, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donald L. Hermsen

Donald L. Hermsen, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Colome, S.D. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired farmer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny; one daughter, Kathy Kinzer of Las Vegas; one brother, Wayne Hermsen of Canton, S.D.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

William B. Hiller

William B. Hiller, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born July 28, 1923, in Illinois. A resident for three years, he was a retired train conductor and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Annie Burke; two daughters, Cassandra Wallace and Candace Hiller; one sister, Geraldine Hendricks; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Raymond B. Holmberg

Raymond B. Holmberg, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1948, in Osceola, Mo. A resident for three years, he was a stock trader and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi; his mother, Rosalee Cross of Arizona; and one sister, Rayma Smith of Minnesota.

Steven L. Huston

Steven L. Huston, 48, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 15, 1954, in Los Angeles. A resident for seven years, he was a driver.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; one daughter, Katrina Roldan of Fontana, Calif.; his parents, Robert and Nedra Baron of Las Vegas; one stepbrother, Robert A. Baron of Carlsbad, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Donelda Jean Kucero, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born June 3, 1939, in Minnesota. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired secretary for a government agency and a member of Little People of America.

She is survived by one son, William; two daughters, Linda and Toni; two sisters, Colleen and Jill; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Doris Watts Lloyd

Doris Watts Lloyd, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born July 30, 1921. in Chicago. A resident for two years, she was a retired government supervisor, first lady emeritus of Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Seattle, a member of the International Association of Ministers' Wives and Ministers' Widows, National Council of Negro Women and the North Pacific Baptist Convention.

She is survived by one daughter, Doris D. "Bunny" Lloyd of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Christine Watts and Lois Dickens, both of Las Vegas, and Barbara Robinson of Chicago.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Orvil Kenneth Mashburn

Orvil Kenneth Mashburn, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 11, 1927, in Oklahoma. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired Navy and Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mineko.

Robert E. Matysiak, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 6, 1941, in Chicago. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hardware customer service representative.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; five daughters, Jean Huggy of Orland Park, Ill., and Cathy Matysiak, Sherry Helisek, Barbara Matysiak and Karin Matysiak, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Irene Hand, and one sister, Patricia Striegel, both of Tinley Park, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Wanda "Leavitt" Pabst, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Preston. A resident for 42 years, she was a crossing guard and a secretary for the Mutual Improvement Association of Mesquite.

She is survived by one son, Larry Pabst of Las Vegas; three sisters, Marva Naylula Freeman of Las Vegas, Nelda Fabin of Riverside, Calif., Lougene Cooper of Overton; three brothers, Carlos Leavitt of North Las Vegas, Owen Leavitt of Mesquite and Kay Leavitt of Overton; and three grandsons.

Joseph E. Sheridan, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Port Hueneme, Calif. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was an alarm technician for a home security company and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Robin; one son, Chad J. Sheridan, his mother, Vivian Anderson, and one sister, Diane Sheridan, all of Las Vegas.

Idella S. Taylor, 90, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1912, in Hugo, Okla. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired wardrobe employee at the Stardust and a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees 720.

She is survived by three daughters, Norma Becker of Lakewood, Wash., Marjorie Rueger of Texas and Betty Webb of California; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by burial in Eden Vale Mausoleum.

Marie Cecile Thompson, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Nashua, N.H. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Thompson of Las Vegas and Ronald Thompson of Hingham, Mass.; two daughters, Nancy Franzoni of Pembroke, Mass., and Elaine Lynch of Watertown, Wis.; two sisters, Simone Boucher of Hillsboro, N.H., and Jane Durand of Kansas City, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Olga Anne Yonkovig, 75, of Rio Rancho, N.M., died Friday in Rio Rancho. She was born April 24, 1927, in Shamokin, Pa. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a motel owner-operator.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Maxim Yonkovig; three daughters, Louise Perkinson of Corrales, N.M., Cynthia Vonessacos of El Dorado Hills, Calif., and Christine Raarup of Salinas, Calif.; four sons, Tonio Skweir of McKinleyville, Calif., Mike Skweir of Arcata, Calif., Dave Skweir of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dan Skweir of Scotts Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Jane Trujillo of Albuquerque and Louise Tkachyk of Maple Shade, N.J.; one brother, Alex Drozkiak of McKeesport, Pa.; and 14 grandchildren.

Arnel Zamora, 46, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1957, in Pampanga, Philippines. A resident for one year, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Incha; three daughters, Monica Zamora of Las Vegas and Janel Haley and Rebecca Dixson, both of Texas; four sons, Jarod Zamora of Albuquerque and Anthony Zamora, Christopher Zamora and Jonathan Zamora, all of Florida; two sisters, Agnes Yap of the Philippines and Chona Kubiak of Puyallup, Wash.; one brother, Danilo Zamora of the Philippines; and five grandchildren.

Nick E. Znaiden, 54, of Henderson died Feb. 26 in Henderson. He was born Sept. 29, 1948, in San Antonio. A resident for six months, he was a mason and Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Nick of Vancouver, Wash., Elias of Henderson and Alexander of Las Vegas; one daughter, Ashley Gessner of Showlow, Ariz.; his mother, Pauline Znaiden of Lakewood, N.J.; one brother, Alex Znaiden of Tokyo; four sisters, Paula Grandin of Henderson, Patricia Heward of Brownsville, Vt., Nancy Clayton of Jackson, N.J., and Maryjane Haus of Manasquan, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
