Public meetings set on school budget

Facing potentially large budget cuts that could affect core programs and services, the Clark County School District is conducting a series of public input meetings, beginning tonight at Cimarron-Memorial High School.

State Superintendent Jack McLaughlin announced last week the Clark County schools could lose as much as $75 million if Gov. Kenny Guinn's proposed budget is not passed.

The forums give parents and community members an opportunity to share their opinions about which programs should be eliminated or which should be spared if the predicted budget cuts become necessary.

Monday: 6 p.m. Clark High School, 4291 W. Pennwood Ave.
