Church group plans dinner, game night
Central Christian Church's Active Adults Group for single adults and couples over 55 will hold a dinner and game night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson.
The event will feature an Italian dinner in the church's courtyard and games of Bunko.
Admission is $7. For more information, call 735-4004.
Red Rock plans event for kids
Desert Babies, a program for 3 and 4-year olds, will be held Wednesday and July 16 at Red Rock Canyon.
The children will read and listen to stories, do crafts and eat snacks.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is also celebrating Independence Day with Happy Birthday America, an event for children on July 4th.
The program runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Visitors Center and features children's crafts and "ice cream in a bag."
Astronomy at Red Rock Canyon is scheduled July 19, with the Bureau of Land Management hosting the Las Vegas Astronomical Soceity. The group plans a slide presentation and will share telescopes for star gazing.
The program will be from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Visitors Center.
The conservation area offers hikes, walks and programs free of charge. To make required reservations or for more information, call 515-5367.
