Water quality report card will be included with bills

Southern Nevada residents will soon receive a report card on water quality along with their monthly bills.

The annual report is required by the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, but the Las Vegas Valley Water District goes beyond requirements to provide easy-to-understand information, spokesman J.C. Davis said.

Test results show that the quality of Southern Nevada's water supply surpassed federal guidelines, Davis said.

The Water District serves 250,000 homes and businesses.

The report contains test results based on more than 30,000 samples collected throughout the valley and analyzed during 2002, Davis said.

Call 258-3930 or e-mail the Water District at www.lvvwd.com. The report is available on the website.
