Man killed in LV apartment

A man was stabbed to death about 1:30 a.m. today in an apartment on Bonanza Road near Eastern Avenue in what Metro Police say may have been a dispute over drugs.

Lt. Tom Monahan said three men went to the apartment in the 2800 block of East Bonanza Road occupied by three other men and were let inside.

Monahan said an argument erupted and one of the residents of the apartment was killed. It appears the man died of a knife wound, Monahan said, although the medical examiner will detemine the exact cause of death.

The Clark County coroner's office did not identify the victim this morning.

The suspects are described as black and between the ages of 27 and 30 years old, Monahan said. One of the suspects is believed to be tall and skinny with dreadlocks or braided hair. He was wearing black clothing.

Another suspect is described as tall and skinny, wearing black clothing and a black doo-rag. The third suspect is short and stocky and was wearing black shorts and a black baseball cap, police said.

They may be using a gray mid-90s model Toyota Camry with some minor body damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the homicide office at 229-3521. Police said callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
