A new television and movie production studio has been launched in Las Vegas.
Studio Vegas -- a subsidiary of The Greenspun Corporation -- will provide financing, production, creative and distribution services for TV and movie projects in Las Vegas, said Howard Lefkowitz, president of the studio.
The studio currently has about six employees and received a start-up investment "in the seven figures," said Lefkowitz.
Studio Vegas has secured its first deal, an agreement with the FOX Network to assist in the production of a New Year's Eve special to air Dec. 31. That event will air live from several locations on the Las Vegas Strip, Lefkowitz said.
Lefkowitz said he will continue to serve as president of the Internet travel sales company VEGAS.com.
The Greenspun family of Las Vegas owns The Greenspun Corporation, the Las Vegas Sun and VEGAS.com.
