Man sentenced in tax case

A 59-year-old Las Vegas man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison in connection with a scheme to divert funds and avoid taxes on a $12 million subcontract in the construction of the Stratosphere Tower.
Bobby Lee Allen was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James Mahan on Wednesday. He was also ordered to pay $565,391 to the Internal Revenue Service.
Allen, Ronnie Lee Ford and Stanley Greene have all pleaded guilty to tax fraud charges in connection with the diversion of $1.4 million from the project. All three operated Ramhorn Construction Inc., the company charged with completing the project.
Ford is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 9, while Greene is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11.
