Discover Card scholarships given

Three Nevada high school seniors have been awarded the Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship intended to help students pay for college and books.
Gabriela Baca, Joseph A. Doucette and Ryan Gustafson will each receive $2,500 after graduation next year.The scholarships are awarded to three winners per state in the catergories of trade and technical studies, arts and humanities and business and technology.
Gustafson, Centennial High School, won in the category of business and technology. In the fall he will be applying to the University of Southern California, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and University of Nevada, Reno, and plans to major in computer engineering and music.
High school juniors who maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average may apply. High school juniors as of September this year are elligible to apply for the 2004 application due in early January. For more information visit www.aasa.org
