Juneteenth
Juneteenth, a festival celebrating of the ending of slavery, will be held from 3-10 p.m. Saturday at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza at Lorenzei Park. Admission is free. 255-6659.
Storytelling
Henderson District Public Libraries and Cold Stone Creamery will co-sponsor a free storytelling event for those 18 and younger at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cold Stone Creamery, 1500 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 130. 270-4676.
Pancake breakfast
Green Valley Presbyterian Church will host its annual pancake breakfast and car wash from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 1798 Wigwam Pkwy. Breakfast is $2.50, and the car wash is $5 for a car and $7 for a truck. 454-8484.
Movie/egg hunt
The Nevada State Museum and Historical Society presents the movie, "Vegas Vacation," followed by a neon egg and scavenger hunt at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, 700 Twin Lakes Drive. The movie is $2 for adults, free for children, and the egg hunt is $2 per child. 486-5205.

Summer craft times -- 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Bring the family to enjoy stories and crafts.
Fun and games with Ronald McDonald -- The famous clown will appear at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to promote the library's summer reading club.

Officials from the fire department and Air Force will visit the following libraries this week as part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's "Local Heroes and Superheroes" program:

Poetry reading
The Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services presents "Tumblewords, a Poetry Reading by Gail Pahmeier," at 7 p.m. today at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free. 229-6211.
Workshop

Carnival
Henderson District Public Libraries will have their district-wide kickoff for the teen summer reading program with a carnival at 7 p.m. Saturday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway. Admission is free. 492-6581.
