By rating Bill Clinton third as "best president," according to a recent CNN/Gallup poll, the American public is finally realizing that he was a good steward of the nation. His accomplishment in wiping out the Reagan-created, record-breaking deficit will go down in history. His tainted personal life will largely be forgotten.
Too bad that the voters subsequently elected a president whose aim was to give another big tax cut to the rich. As a result, he restarted the deficit.
