Dolores Butterfield

Dolores Butterfield, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1928, in New York. A resident for 57 years, she was a registered nurse and nurses' union representative.

She is survived by one son, Alan E. Butterfield; one daughter, April J. Butterfield; two sisters, Kay Herzog and Peggy Knauth; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private family services.

Kenneth Royce Chevers

Kenneth Royce Chevers, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 4, 1923, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, he was an assistant principal and science/math teacher at a junior high school, a World War II Army veteran and president of AARP Chapter 4395.

He is survived by his wife, Wilda; two sisters, Sylvia Coke of Palm Coast, Fla., and Dorothy Clarke of the Bronx, N.Y.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mary Lou Granstrom

Mary Lou Granstrom, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born May 21, 1937, in North Dakota. A resident for 28 years, she was a casino change woman.

She is survived her husband, Bob; two sons, Jeff and John; one daughter, Jan O'Brien; one sister, Lina Mae Skaggs; and four grandchildren.

Ruth Ellen Horn

Ruth Ellen Horn, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in North Hampton, Mass. A resident for 23 years, she was a data processor at the Clark County Courthouse and was a Navy veteran.

She is survived by her husband, Sedric; and two sons, David R. Horn and Steven S. Horn.

Visitation is scheduled 8-11 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Barbara Jean 'Bobbie' Marsden Jones

Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Marsden Jones, 68, of Henderson died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Cedar City, Utah. A resident for 44 years, she was a homemaker, served in primary and Sunday school for the LDS Church, a member of the Relief Society and served a mission in Charleston, W.Va.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Kendall E. Jones of Henderson and Teresa Slade and Lisa Gubler, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Dr. Stephen K. Jones and Scott M. Jones, both of Henderson; one sister, Marjorie Heybourne of St. George, Utah; two brothers, Connell Marsden of Mancos, Colo., and Dr. Jerry Marsden of St. George.

Visitation is scheduled 6-9 p.m. today at 1261 Anna Marie Lane, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Mission Drive chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Estelle M. Knudsen

Estelle M. Knudsen, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Williston, N.D. A resident for eight years, she was an organist.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Stephen B.; one son, Stanford B. Knudsen of Bemidji, Minn.; two daughters, Stephanie K. Larson of East Grand Forks, Minn., and Krislyn J. Mattei of Ely; one brother, Howard Borstad of Tioga, N.D.; two sisters, Carole Anderson of Spokane, Wash., and Julaine Sihla of Bowman, N.D.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Marion Kringas

Marion Kringas, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker and a member of American Modelers Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Parker of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Illinois. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ethan West Leavitt

Ethan West Leavitt, 7 weeks, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 10, 2003, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Stacey and Joshua Leavitt, and one brother, Kendel Leavitt, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Judy Leavitt, Ken Albrecht, Cindy Aspie and Sandee and Steve Hopper, all of Las Vegas, and Jay and Dixie Leavitt of Phoenix.

Natividad de Leon 'Naty' Luna

Natividad de Leon "Naty" Luna, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. A resident for 10 years, she was born April 12, 1932, in the Philippines.

She is survived by one daughter, Camille Luna Pinlac of Las Vegas; one son, Gerardo De Leon Luna, two brothers, Renaldo De Leon and Joel De Leon, and three sisters, Lordes Comingo, Gloria Centeno and Sally De Leon, all of the Philippines; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 Saturday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be in the Philippines.

Betty Jean McDaniel

Betty Jean McDaniel, 69, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Missouri. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Michael McDaniel of Cathedral City, Calif.; and two grandsons.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

David E. McDowell

David E. McDowell, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a financial management company and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; two sons, David J. McDowell and Daniel B. McDowell, both of Massachusetts; two stepdaughters, Nancy Melvin and Deborah Elicker, and one stepson, Randal Melvin, all of Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Evelyn Elaine 'Lynn' Mesaros

Evelyn Elaine "Lynn" Mesaros, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born May 10, 1951, in Santa Monica, Calif. A resident for five years, she was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Cloggers.

She is survived by her father, Don Gibbons of Las Vegas; her mother, Jackie Krueger, and one brother, Dennis Gibbons, both of Burbank, Calif.

A memorial service will be noon Saturday at the LDS Summerlin Ward, 9011 Hillpointe Road. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Barbara Ann Price

Barbara Ann Price, 68, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A resident for 33 years, she was born April 8, 1935, in Louisiana.

She is survived by four sons, Kirk Price of Las Vegas, Michael Price of New Orleans, Norwood Price of North Las Vegas and the Rev. Bryce Melancon of California; one daughter, Roslyn Haley of North Las Vegas; one sister, Vivian Edwards of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.

Cyrus Drake Randles

Cyrus Drake Randles, 2, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 2000, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Casey and DeAnn Randles, two brothers, Louis Gallegos and Daniel Gallegos, and two sisters, Cierra Gallegos and Julia Gallegos, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

George W. Roberts

George W. Roberts, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Cleveland. A resident for 12 1/2 years, he was a retired industrial engineer in the aviation industry, a World War II Army veteran and a member of TPC at Summerlin.

He is survived by two sons, John H. Roberts and William H. Roberts, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Denise Kohlstedt of Mesa, Ariz., and Sharon Kearns of Bowerston, Ohio; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Grace Rodrigues, 31, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 4, 1971, in Honolulu. A resident for nine years, she owned and operated Grace's Hawaiian Cafe and was a poker dealer at The Mirage and the Plaza.

She is survived by her husband, James K. Sr.; two sons, James K. Rodrigues Jr. and Braysen K. Rodrigues, both of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Talia K. Fujihara of Kaneohe, Hawaii; her parents, Honey and Gary Okada Sr., one brother, Gary Okada Jr., and two sisters, Joy Okada and Brandy Okada, all of Honolulu; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Norman Harris Schwartz

Norman Harris Schwartz, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Michigan. A resident for many years, he was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rosima.

Goldie Lee Shadoan

Goldie Lee Shadoan, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, William T.; two sons, Rick Shadoan and Douglas Shadoan, and one daughter, Sharon Bucholz, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Leo Burgan of Florida, Donald Burgan of Kentucky and Earl Burgan of Nevada; one sister, Edith Mae Burgan of Tennessee; and five grandchildren.

Jo Slater

Jo Slater, 60, of Pahrump died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 8, 1942, in Oklahoma. A resident for six years, she was a cable technician.

She is survived by her husband, Pete; five children, Nikki Wimsatt of Las Vegas and LeRay Gonzalez, Stephanie Rasta, T.J. Slater and Lindsay Slater, all of Arizona; one brother, Harold Smith of Arizona; one sister, Shirley Coronado of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.
