CARSON CITY -- The Senate gave final legislative approval Monday to a bill to limit the Nevada Public Utilities Commission's regulation of broadband products like Internet and other high-speed data services.
The Assembly approved the bill 40-1. Assemblywoman Chris Giunchigliani, D-Las Vegas, cast the only dissenting vote.
SBC Nevada (Nevada Bell), Sprint and AT&T agreed to the amendment.
The bill does not limit or modify the commission's authority to consider rate cases or act on consumer complaints.
