North Las Vegas Police arrest man wanted in slaying

A North Las Vegas Police SWAT team early today arrested a 21-year-old man wanted in the May 18 slaying of a woman who was hit by one of 10 bullets fired through her closed apartment door.
Aaron Lamont Eagles of North Las Vegas was arrested on an outstanding murder warrant at an apartment at 3985 E. Cheyenne Ave., in Las Vegas, at 3 a.m., North Las Vegas Police officer spokesman Justin Roberts said.
SWAT officers found him sleeping on a couch in an apartment occupied by two women and two children. He offered no resistance after police kicked in the door after no one answered a knock, Roberts said.
Eagles was booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on felony charges of murder with a deadly weapon, attempt murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
One of the women in the Cheyenne apartment, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the May 18 killing of Jessica Korschinowski, 26, of North Las Vegas, Roberts said.
That shooting occurred at 5:30 p.m. at 1505 W. Cartier Ave., following an argument between Eagles and Korschinowski's boyfriend, Charles McDonald, 33, also of North Las Vegas.
Police allege Eagles went to his apartment and got a gun and McDonald ran back into the apartment he shared with girlfriend Korschinowski and locked the door.
Ten shots were fired through the closed door, striking Korschinowski in the chest and McDonald in the right arm, police said.
Korschinowski was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
McDonald initially refused to be taken to the hospital because he wanted to stay with the couple's baby, who was in a room sleeping when shots were fired, Roberts said. McDonald went to a local hospital for treatment after relatives came to care for the baby, police said.
