Letter: Unlawful war has nothing to do with security
Wednesday, July 30, 2003 | 8:39 a.m.
Where would the popularity rating of President Bush be if the American people could, on a daily basis, read about the soldiers we are losing in Iraq and see their pictures? The American people should be able to see the effects of this unnecessary war.
Unnecessary, as weapons of mass destruction have not been found and Iraq have never been an imminent threat to this nation. To preempt an attack against a sovereign nation without provocation is not only unlawful, but also unconstitutional.
The mainstream media could have easily prevented this rogue administration from creating this war by merely reporting the truth. The American people have a right to know the whole truth when they are committing their sons, daughters, mothers, fathers and spouses to an undeclared war for the benefit of the big oil people and power seekers.
The people who will benefit the most are not fighting any part of the war and those with little or nothing to gain and everything to lose are fighting and dying for a cause that has nothing to do with their freedom or national security.
