Community College of Southern Nevada's annual walk-on baseball tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday at Lied Field in Henderson, beginning at 9 each morning. Participants, who must be high school graduates, should show up at 8:40 a.m.
The Coyotes capped their fourth season by winning the Junior College World Series in Colorado in May.
"We might find a diamond-in-the-rough," said CCSN coach Tim Chambers. "We want to give everyone a chance to make our club."
A former walk-on third baseman, Mike Cruz, won defensive MVP honors at the World Series. Moreover, first baseman Joe Wagner, another former walk-on, won the team's MVP award in the program's first season.
Chambers said he expects a group of more than three dozen candidates will try out for his team.
