Letter: Don’t forget the soldiers
Friday, July 25, 2003 | 5:03 a.m.
Almost every day a member of the American military is killed in Iraq. I'm sure if we looked into their backgrounds, we would find that most of them came from middle-class or poor families. This has been the case for every war this country has fought.
How many rich families have loved ones in the current conflict? We know President Bush's children, and the children of most of the politicians in Washington, are not involved.
I understand that most people are more interested in the latest overpaid athlete who is involved in yet another mess he made for himself. But I ask them, please find the time for the individuals in the military who are putting their lives on the line in Iraq. I think they are more important than an adulterer.
