Henderson boy wants camp experience

WEEKEND EDITION: July 26, 2003
A sixth grade boy wants to chase a chicken this summer, he says.
The 12-year-old, who is active in the Boy Scouts and Boys and Girls Club of Henderson, has applied to the Sun Summer Camp Fund for a scholarship to to go camp.
His mother says he would benefit from the experience and that he needs something to keep him busy during the summer.
The boy's reason is more direct: he's ready to run and play with the poultry.
He's only one of hundreds of children the Sun Summer Camp Fund helps send to camp every year.
The Las Vegas Sun covers administrative expenses. All donations go directly toward scholarships.
