Nevada Public Radio's "Nevada Variations" program received high honors at the fifth annual Axiem Awards, a competition that recognizes excellence in electronic media. The awards were announced in June.

The program received the Copper Axiem award in the regional category of radio writing. It also received the Silver Axiem in the documentary category.

"Nevada Variations" is produced and narrated by journalist Jon Christensen. The series focuses on humanities and current events using history, literature and the arts.

Listeners can tune into "Nevada Variations" on 89.5 FM.
