Man charged with molestations
Tuesday, July 22, 2003 | 11:25 a.m.
A 45 year-old man was arrested Saturday and charged with molesting four children, and Metro Police think there may be additional victims who haven't come forward yet.
Oscar Ayala already is facing 16 counts of sexual assault and four counts of lewdness with a minor under 14 years old, police said. When police searched Ayala's home near Fremont Street at 17th Street they found numerous videotapes of the assaults, they said.
Lt. Jeff Carlson said Ayala befriended parents of neighborhood children then had the children come to his home.
Detectives began investigating after four children, ages 9 and 10, told their parents they had been sexually assaulted, Carlson said. The children were taken to Sunrise Hospital on Friday and are now back with their families, Carlson said.
Ayala remained jailed this morning at the Clark County Detention Center in lieu of $280,000 bond, authorities said.
Anyone with information regarding the case can call Detective V. Ramirez at 229-3421 or Crime Stoppers 385-5555.
